How Wood Gasification Technology Works

Creating a low-smoke fire isn’t easy — but MOON makes it simple. Its smart double-wall construction is the secret. As air is drawn in, it’s split into three streams: two feed oxygen directly to the fire through the ash tray, fuelling a clean, efficient burn. The third stream travels between the double walls, heating as it rises, before exiting through a ring of precision-cut holes near the top.

Here, the hot air ignites a secondary combustion, burning off fine wood particles and reducing smoke to an absolute minimum — especially effective when using wood pellets. The result? A cleaner, brighter fire with less smoke and more atmosphere.

Can I use MOON 45 indoors?

No — the MOON fire basket is designed for outdoor use only. When operated with pellets outdoors, it offers a smoke-reduced, odour-free fire experience perfect for urban environments.

What surfaces can MOON be used on?

Always place fire bowls on fireproof, heat-resistant surfaces and maintain a minimum clearance of 3 metres from flammable materials. The MOON must never be operated beneath roofs, overhangs, balconies, trees, or other coverings. Never leave the fire unattended, as pellets remain hot and may continue to glow for several hours after the fire dies down.

What are the recommended surfaces for the raised MOON?

With the high stainless steel stand, MOON is elevated further from the ground, allowing greater flexibility in surface choice. When using pellets, it may be placed on wooden decks or other surfaces at your own risk, provided correct usage minimises flying sparks. When burning firewood, a fireproof surface is essential.

What are the recommended surfaces for the low MOON?

When using the low stand, place MOON on stone, concrete, sand, or other non-combustible, heat-resistant surfaces. The fire basket emits significant downward heat that could damage unsuitable surfaces. (The low stand is an additional accessory to be purchased separately.)
